About HeatIndexCalculator.org
Not medical advice
HeatIndexCalculator.org helps explain four different readings: heat index, dew point, wet-bulb temperature and wet-bulb globe temperature. They describe different aspects of hot or humid conditions, and they are not interchangeable.
Methods before confident-looking numbers
The heat-index method follows NOAA's published NWS equation and adjustments. Dew-point estimates use the documented saturation-vapor-pressure approximation identified on that page. Wet-bulb estimates identify Stull's empirical method and its pressure assumption.
The WBGT page separates standard equations using measured sensor inputs from a limited shade-only proxy. A formula result should always be read with its input requirements and limits.
What this website is not
This is not an official NOAA, NWS, CDC or OSHA service, a weather station, a medical service or a workplace compliance assessment. Source links let you check the original guidance; they do not imply endorsement.
The tools cannot assess a person's health, measure conditions at your site or decide whether an event should continue. Use official forecasts, appropriate local measurements and the relevant organization’s heat-safety procedures.
Corrections and review
Report a suspected equation error or unclear explanation through the contact page. Include a non-personal set of inputs so we can identify the calculation you mean. We do not need anyone's health history.
